2020 vs. 2019 AAA Corporate Travel Client Travel Trends

We took a close look at the travel trends we found among our clients in 2020, compared to 2019 to show how the pandemic has affected rankings and average rates. Check out the infographics below to see how the top airlines, hotels, and rental car companies faired with our travelers in 2020.


Delta once again held the #1 spot as a top choice among our travelers, while Southwest bumped United for the #3 spot. Airfare averages also decreased from $562 to $481. 

2020 Air Travel Trends


Holiday Inn claimed the #1 spot as a top choice among our travelers, while Courtyard was bumped to the #3 spot, and Hampton Inn made it on the board this year claiming the #2 spot. Average daily rates also decreased from $165 to $137.

2020 Hotel Trends


Enterprise claimed the #1 spot again as a top choice among our travelers, while National (#2) and Hertz (#3) swapped places this year. With an uptick in road travel, there was only a slight increase in average daily rates from $38.78 to $39.67.
