Name: Stacy Hoon

Current Title: Online Support Agent

What motivates you when helping travelers with online booking and navigation questions? Knowing what I have been telling the caller just clicked and they now understand how to use the online booking tool or that the error message they had has been resolved.

What initially drew you to this role and how has your perspective grown since you began supporting our travelers? I enjoy working with the online booking tools and this position gives me that opportunity.  In my short time with AAA I have worked with Concur and have learned a bit more about the Deem Online Booking tool and hope to learn more about Deem and Certify in the future.

Online booking tools are constantly evolving; how do you manage to keep up with all the changes? I am new to AAA Corporate, so I am still learning where everything is housed but I have a great team that is always willing to help when needed.  Otherwise, I keep up with monthly release notes and old support tickets.

What fuels you every day? Sweet Tea with chips and salsa on stressful afternoons.

What makes you laugh out loud? My friends. I am fortunate to have many longtime friends who have been there during some difficult times. They always know just what I need to hear or send me some video on Facebook or Tik Tok that will usually make me laugh.

What is the most complicated situation you have supported a traveler through and how did you resolve it? I remember being on the phone with a client when she was trying to get down the stairs of one of the twin towers when 9/11 happened. She was from California in NY for business and just wanted to get home. I tried to keep her calm and advised that all flights were cancelled so I booked her a rental car that she shared with someone she met in the stairwell, and they drove all the way back to California.

If you were not at work, what would you be doing? During the summer months, I love to go watch sprint car races or take in the scenic views from the back of my husband's motorcycle.

Where is your dream destination and what is the favorite place you have traveled to and why? I would love to travel to Ireland or an Alaskan Cruise with a land package to add on a few days.  My favorite place to travel to is Texas to visit my son and my new daughter in law.

Cats or dogs or a different pet? Dogs all the way. I had 2 dogs but just recently lost my 12 ½ year old chocolate lab.

Tell us something about yourself that is not common knowledge. If I were to hit a big lottery jackpot, I would open a sanctuary to take in all the dogs I see that have been dumped or abused.

From crafting complex itineraries to providing service with heart, our team members are the driving force behind every successful journey. We’re excited to introduce you to the people who make business travel seamless, personalized, and exceptional—every step of the way.
